No hay camino

Today in a translation workshop among other phrases we each translated the following excerpt from a cycle of poems by Antonio Machado (1875-1939):

Caminante, no hay camino
Se hace camino al andar

I translated the passage as follows:

Wanderer you have no way,
Save for the way you wander.

The passage resonated for me, especially given yesterday’s post of the quotation from the I.J. Singer novel (which I finished reading early this morning).
